Life on the bright side, au soleil d'Emilie...

A blog about raising my baby girl, about my life as a wife, mum and lazy-eyed-cat owner, and generally about all the little random things which make each day wonderful.

Baby Aoife 2

More photos of little Aoife - sigh - so gorgeous she would make me broody... :-)

Baby Aoife

This little cutie pie came to visit me a couple of weeks ago to get her picture taken. Mummy thought she would never sleep, but in fact that gave me a chance to get really nice awake shots, which show off this gorgeous little one's eyes and eye lashes, before she curled up and went to sleep. Aoife was 6 weeks old when these photos were taken but she was already very alert and full of smiles! She is so beautiful, I am not sure I can choose amongst all the photos, so be prepared to be inundated :)

More to follow... ;)

For L and R... ;)

I remember reading this when Millie was little... I thought you may like it - It is so true! I always think about this poem when the house is a mess!
Babies don't keep

Mother, O' Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth.
Hang out the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.

Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due,
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek - peekaboo.

The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew,
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo.
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo.

The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow,
But children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.
